Jason and April decide to go to The Melting Spot. As they both arrive April gets out of her new truck and Jason out of his new Porsche he just bought with the money that he got from the settlement. April pulls out her cell phone and begins to tweet messages to someone. Jason, seeing how cute she looks decides to ask her what she is doing.
"What does it look like I am doing? I am talking to my fans on Twitter! I am tweeting, as it is called. My fans want to know everything I am doing. So I decided to write a short blip about what we are doing tonight. My fans want to know how this date is going."
"This is a date?" Jason replies. "Are you going to tell your people what you did? How is this a date and not just something you have to do?"
"Nope... I am going to keep it on the down low and make it so that my image is not hurt in any way, shape or form," April said not looking up from her cell phone.
Jason and April walk up to the door of The Melting Spot. At the top of the door is a sign that reads, "The Melting Spot, where you can get anything you heart desires as long as it is in the form of Cheese". Jason reaches out to the right door and opens it for April.
"The doors are huge," Jason said in an attempt to buffer the awkwardness that was constantly growing between them. April, oblivious of the doors and everything else around her, walks in and is blown away. Each table has gold plated silverware and bowls the size of basketballs! The seating consists of plush velvet booths and very elegant chairs with gold leaf detailing. The floors are made out of marble and in front of Jason and April, about 10 feet away from where they are, there are 2 sets of stairs. One going up to a room filled with mystery, the other one going down to a floor filled with wonder. At the stairs there are 2 signs with arrows pointing to their respective directions. Each with a description of what you will find. Mystery up top, and Wonder and Excitement down below.
The bottom floor is hard to see without going down the stairs. Jason walks up to look down the stairs that go down to "Wonder and Excitement" but as he gets close to them a waitress pulls him back. "That is not for prying eyes," the hostess scolds as Jason walks back to the podium where April was still standing, awe-stuck. Jason looks out to the main floor. As he scans around he see's what looks to be trap doors, rope swings, and a rope going across the ceiling.
"What was that? What should I not see down there?" Jason asks, turning to the hostess.
"That area is reserved and private for our special guests. How many people are in your party, sir?"
"Two please," Jason replies in a soft voice.
"Do you have a reservation?"
"Yes, I do."
"Name, please?"
"Jason."
The hostess runs her finger down a long list of names. "Here you are, welcome, welcome. Would you like to sit up top, down below, or in our private room?" The hostess replies a little nicer now. "Up top has a magic show going on in 15 minutes. Downstairs for the Circus Act which is starting in 20 minutes. Or enter one of our private rooms where it is just you, your date, and all the wine you can drink. And not just any wine resides down there, but wine from our private reserve. Also, instead of sitting at a table you get your own private showing of a movie of your choice. That room starts at $1000.00 an hour, with a 2 hour minimum." The hostess explains, laughing low under her breath.
"Let's take the private room," Jason replies, looking over at April. She looks up mid-tweet in amazement."You want to go into the private room with me?" Jason asks smiling at her. She seems speechless.
"After the way I have treated you I am shocked you want to go down there." April replies looking down, not at her cell phone this time, but in shame.
"I guess so. But remember this is not a date, according to you."
"I am doing this because I have to, not because I want to," April replies in a soft voice.
"Why not enjoy yourself? After all you are, technically, paying for this," Jason chuckles. April nods her head and the hostess leads them down the stairs to their room. Jason, being shocked she agrees, follows the 2 women down the stairs. They enter and both are blown away on how a room can look so good. From the plush pillows to the velvet chairs. To the movie screen on the other side of the room with 3D glasses laying on the table.
"What movie would you like to see today?" The hostess then lists of some choices.
"I would like to see Titanic in 3D," Jason replied, grinning.
"Coming right up."

Taken aback, she stared at the letter in her hand. You just never got mail these days any more. “Snail Mail,” isn’t that what they called it? Email and texting had taken over all other forms of communication. But here she stood, holding the envelope with the foreign address, staring back at her, daring her to open it. It pushed and prodded at the dark and forgotten spaces of her memory, repeating endlessly:
